Article 36: Directed Energy Weapons: Discussion paper for the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW), Geneva, November 2017

Facebook post, July 21, 2019

. . . “Directed Energy Weapons for use by military and civilian agencies are a hot-button, emerging technology that has previously only existed in the realm of science fiction."

- "Directed Energy Weapons (DEW) Market Report, 2019-2029: Forecasts By Product Type," Visiongain Ltd., March 13, 2019

Hello, this is Prof. Nigel Antony Gray. My good friend Prof. Rick Duarte and I have been researching Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs) for quite some time now. I wanted to share with you some of the information to give you a greater understanding of what this term means.

This is an whole array of sophisticated weaponry based upon lasers and electro-magnetic frequencies capable of harming humans and damaging material objects. Cramming this all into one post is difficult, damn near impossible, so I'd like to make this as simple as possible. Firstly, each of these weapons has different characteristics and capabilities. I will not descibe each in full, but you can look further into it from here. I will add a few quotes to give you some idea of why you need to be aware of these weapons. We have already witnessed DEWs unleashed on the world in such horrifying moments as at the end of the Iraq War in the "highway of death" incident, and the recent California "fires" that incinerated houses but left trees standing. The evolution of technologies such as hypersonic missiles, hypersonic tail guns, and DEW has ushered in a new era of technological advances that are to be incorporated in amphibious landing craft. DEWs possess immense potential for military applications and can dramatically reduce the cost associated with the development and operations of both offensive and defensive weaponry. High-powered laser DEWs are anti-personnel and can cause burning of an area in the body as well as permanent injuries such as blindness. Furthermore, microwave DEWs are anti-material and can be used to destroy missiles, ships, and UAVs as well as fry circuitry of enemy equipment deployed on a battlefield. ' - "Integration of Directed-Energy Weapons (DEWs) To Boost Growth," Business Wire, July 16, 2019 Major players in the global DEWs market include BAE Systems PLC, Rheinmetall AG, Moog Inc., Northrop Grumman, Quinetiq Group PLC, Raytheon [owner of HAARP patents], Textron Inc., Boeing, L-3 Communications Holdings, Inc., Lockheed Martin [owner of Space Fence patents]. To give you just some idea of the types of weapons: High Powered Microwave HPM High Powered Laser HPL High Energy Laser (HEL) Airborne Laser (ABL) Chemical Oxygen Iodine Laser (COIL) Free Electron Laser (FEL) Solid-State Laser (SSL) Tactical High Energy Laser (THEL) Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) Laser Weapon System (LaWS) CHAMP: Boeing has announced that it successfully tested an electromagnetic pulse missile "EMP" capable of disabling electronics without affecting structures. The Counter-electronics High-powered Advanced Missile Project (CHAMP) was tested by a Boeing Phantom Works/U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory Directed Energy Directorate team on October 16 [2012] at the Utah Test and Training Range. Firing high-power microwave bursts at a multi-story structure containing electronic systems and devices, the drone-like weapon irreparably disabled the computers and electronics within seven targets in a one-hour period. The cameras recording the operation were also disabled. CHAMP's High Power Microwave instrument that provided the disabling EMP blast is a product of Raytheon Ktech, who remotely viewed the operation. Telemetry and data from the test are now being analyzed further. (“CHAMP – lights out,” Boeing, 22 Oct 2012) SUMMING UP As you can see, a vast DEW technology already exists, a multi-billion dollar industry. Governments of the world are buying into it as a vastly cheaper offensive and defensive option, including the "homeland security industry" ($418 billion per year by 2022). Weather Modification technology and Geo-Engineering are close "cousins" of DEW technology. New Zealand MetService (a govt-owned corporation) has announced that from July 1, 2019, NexRads are being installed throughout NZ. NexRads use EMF technology. Already, we have seen 3 severe fires in two days. What more will be coming? Keep watching for more updates <3 , Rick and Nigel, Weather Wars International
